Try Speed Skating
Try Speed Skating is a FREE program for those
interested in trying out speed skating before becoming a member. All
lessons are at the Staples Arena.
Coaches will assess your child's skating ability and place them into one
of two groups:
- Group 1: February 14 to March 1, 2012 (six
lessons), Tuesday nights from 7:00-7:40 p.m. and Thursday nights
from 6:45-7:25 p.m. Limit of 15 skaters.
- Group 2: February 14 to March 1, 2012 (six
lessons), Tuesday nights from 7:40-8:35 p.m. and Thursday nights
from 7:25-8:25 p.m. Limit of 15 skaters.
- Group 3: February 14 to March 1, 2012 (six
lessons), Tuesday nights from 8:45-10:00 p.m. and Thursday nights
from 8:35-10:00 p.m. Limit of 15 skaters.

Speed Skating
Speed skating season begins October
2, 2011. Registration is at Staples Arena,
Thursday Sept. 15 and Monday Sept. 19, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
There is no increase in fees this year. Registration fees are:

In addition to these fees, a $16 fee is charged for Saskatchewan Speed
Skating Associate (SASSA) and Speed Skating Canada (SSC) which one
parent must purchase (usually the parent most involved in volunteering).
Registration fees are for the full season from October to March. Fees
are pro-rated if a skater joins later in the season, although the full
cost of SASSA/SSC fees are charged.

Fitness Tax Credit
You can claim the fees paid for physical fitness programs for your children
under the age of 16. The Children's Fitness Tax Credit provides parents with an
annual credit of up to $500 per child to help cover the cost of their child's
physical fitness programs or sporting activities fees. For more information on
